I learned how to use the wordle website in this assignment as well as how to create a cool graphic out of all my delicious bookmarks. Jing Graphic

I created this graphic to show the anatomy of a fish. The fish picture is a musky and the diagram shows what the names of their fins are. I used jing to capture this image then I used different tools like the arrow tool and the text tool to create the diagram. I could use this acquired knowledge in my classroom to help the students in labeling maps, parts of an animal, or even use it for math questions. I could use this tool in a number of ways where I want the students to see a diagram. The standards covered in this assignment are:
-Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
-Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
-Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity

Self Portrait

I created a self portrait in abstract style using the website Mr. Picassohead. I thought that this assignment was actually pretty fun. It was different than most of the things that we have done. I found the website to be very easy to use and was interesting to see how my picture came out. I used the color tool, the rotating tool, and the delete tool to create my self portrait. Here is the link to my portrait. I think this would be a fun activity for students to do that will help them to be more comfortable with computers. The standards covered in this assignment are:
-Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
-Engage students in exploring real world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
-Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
-Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources

More Graph Types

I used kids zone to create graphs that compare the scores of West Virginia to the national average in the areas of science and reading for grades 4 and 8. The website that I got my information from is the state NAEP site. Here are my graphs and explanations.

Crappy Graph I made

I actually had fun with this assignment because it was not too difficult and you do not have to download any programs to complete it. My graph shows the expenditures per pupil from an entire year for the states Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, and West Virginia. As you can see Pennsylvania is the highest with TX and FL having the least.

Draw Something

The program that I used was the paint program because it is the easiest for me to use. The type of file that I have created is a .bmp file. These are the tools that I use basically everyday to keep up with this class.

Desktop Graphic

I decided to use paint to create my desktop graphic of a football play. The red o's are the offensive players and the x's the defensive players. The black lines are representing what the player should do and who to block. Some of the tools that I used to create this masterpiece were the airbrush, line tool, text tool, eraser tool, and the rounded rectangle tool. I put my image directly into the blog instead of posting a link because of the other blogs I have seen none of their links have been working.

Snipping Tool

I found this particular exercise to be very difficult because I could not locate a snipping tool on any of the computers that I have access to. I instead downloaded a snipping tool and this is what I came up with. I feel that having these links from the FSU homepage would be handy.

Print Screen

I feel this would be beneficial in a classroom if your were teaching about human anatomy especially the facial structure.
