Organizing Tools
I read the article "The Classroom Webpage, a must have for 2008" and found it very interesting. The article talks about the advantages of teachers creating webpages about their classroom. The author lists the advantages that a teacher will get by having their own page. One is efficiency because the teacher will have more time to teach because the students can access links from the teacher webpage. Another advantage is resources because the students have many more opportunities to access links using the teacher webpage. Relevance is another advantage because the students will see using the internet as being a regular part of school. Connection is another advantage of having your own webpage because the students will feel more connected to their teacher knowing they have internet skills. Another advantage is access because not only the students gain more access from the webpage, but also the students' parents. The last advantage the author talked about is the experience that students will be getting from using the classroom webpage. I agree that a teacher having their own webpage would benefit from doing so.

My | Prezi
Here is my prezi. I created this using the prezi website which is here. I really liked using this because it was new to me and I could really see myself using this in my classroom in the future. I saved the video as a wmv. file and am now able to bring it up on my computer whenever I want to. I feel this is a good thing to learn because if you find a video that is really helpful then you can view it at any time without having to worry about the creator taking it off the internet. PowerPoint animation
I created a one slide powerpoint showing the parts of a guitar. I created labels for a picture of a guitar and adjusted it so that you can select on a text box that says "show labels" and it will bring the labels up for you to view. Here it is. By doing this assignment I learned how to use the labels in powerpoint making them either make things appear or disappear. I could use this knowledge I have learned to do anything where I might have a map quiz or an anatomy quiz where something needs labeled. It would make it much easier to study using the hide labels so I can see how much I know about it and then show the labels to see if I was right.

Self Portrait
I created a self portrait in abstract style using the website Mr. Picassohead. I thought that this assignment was actually pretty fun. It was different than most of the things that we have done. I found the website to be very easy to use and was interesting to see how my picture came out. I used the color tool, the rotating tool, and the delete tool to create my self portrait. Crappy Graph I made

I actually had fun with this assignment because it was not too difficult and you do not have to download any programs to complete it. My graph shows the expenditures per pupil from an entire year for the states Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, and West Virginia. As you can see Pennsylvania is the highest with TX and FL having the least.

Desktop Graphic

I decided to use paint to create my desktop graphic of a football play. The red o's are the offensive players and the x's the defensive players. The black lines are representing what the player should do and who to block. Some of the tools that I used to create this masterpiece were the airbrush, line tool, text tool, eraser tool, and the rounded rectangle tool. I put my image directly into the blog instead of posting a link because of the other blogs I have seen none of their links have been working.

Brainstorming Ideas
I believe we are supposed to be coming up with ideas for something that we can present in a variety of medias that will last around 3-5 minutes. I want to do something different that most people would not think of that is out of the classroom. I would like to do something involving wildlife conservation pertaining mostly to musky fishing. Musky fishing is a passion of mine and it is something that West Virginia has that not alot of other states can claim. I want to explain the ins and outs of the fish as well as how there needs to be a combined effort from everyone to not litter and keep your yards clean in case of floods. Does anyone think this is a good idea?....bad idea?.....I could always change ideas throughout this class.

Still figuring things out
I am new to the blogging scene so this might not be as easy for me as other people. I am also one of the few people that I know that does not have facebook or myspace. I try to spend as little time as possible on the computer especially since I take classes on it and they require most of my time to be spent sitting at computer. I just set up my delicious account and put my resume up so check them out.
